Report in the Press & Journal re local councillors objecting to
Tornograin new town masterplanned by Miami-based architect Andres

that the density of 10,000 people on less than a square mile was 'unbelievable

Tornagrain - New Urbanism
Moray Estates plan to build a new community - called Castle Stuart
- near Tornagrain in the Highlands. They have apparently taken on
Mr Duany, principal of Duany Plater-Zyberk and Company - DPZ.
Mr Duany was one of the founders of the Congress for New Urbanism
(CNU) movement. He has influenced the building of Poundbury and has
advised on the rebuilding of hurricane damage in Louisiana and Mississippi.
About 5,000 houses are planned on a 350-acre site making this the
largest Highlands community after Inverness, with slightly more residents
than Fort William. Echoing Prince Charles' Poundbury principals the
community would be based on 18th-century planned Scottish towns, such
as Dunkeld and Grantown-on-Spey
