Arlington Baths Club in Glasgow is the oldest club of its type in Scotland and possibly Europe.

Founded in 1870, it was originally designed by John Burnet, the father of Sir John James Burnet. It opened on the 1 August 1871 as the Arlington Swimming Club.

The club is a significant Glasgow institution, and was developed and expanded over 30 years and is packed full of original Victorian features.

There is an archive about this historic building dating right back to 1870 which is deposited at the Mitchell Library. It has lots of fascinating material including the original suggestion books, membership books, board meeting minutes, memorabilia.
