The world’s most prestigious architectural showcase has invited Scotland
to participate for the first time in the 20-year history of the event.

Italian officials said Scottish work had reached a stage of excellence that demanded its inclusion.

A special Scottish show of 17 projects is being co-ordinated by TheLighthouse supported by the Scottish Executive.The Venice Biennale runs from September to November; the theme for 2004 is ‘Metamorph’.
Participation at the Venice Biennale follows the success of The Scottish Show at the Salone de Mobile in Milan this year, where 13 leading Scottish design companies were showcased at the world’s most influential design fair.
