Midhope Castle Abercorn

Location: west of Abercorn, West Lothian

Directions: minor roads north off A904

16th century, Category A Scheduled Monument


Abercorn is a hamlet on the Hopetoun Estate in West Lothian, 5 km west of South Queensferry. The parish church includes 12th Century Norman elements, although it is mostly post-Reformation; an 8th century stone cross is in the grounds.

Midhope Castle is sometimes referred to as Abercorn Castle
