Location: 4m east of Linlithgow, off A904, West Lothian

The house was gifted by the Dalyells to the National Trust in 1944

History

The current Tam Dalyell has an illustrious past in the House of Commons and originated the famous West Lothian Question re p[roblems with scottish Devolution. General Tam Dalyell founded the Royal Scots Greys. It is reputed that the General roasted his enemies alive in the ovens.
