A course on aesthetic and technical aspects of caring for the interiors
and exteriors of Glasgow's mainly Victorian and Edwardian property.
Hosted in the first two years by David Martin, Conservation Consultant,
this year we have the established 20 specialist speakers and 2 guided
walks hosted by Adrian Stewart, Young Architect of the Year 2002.
This highly acclaimed course is aimed at professionals working in this
field, and a basic knowledge is assumed. It is approved for CPD purposes
by the RIAS.

Clyde Waterfront Expo 2006: gm+ad - Press Release 16 Oct

Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop Architects will be exhibiting their Glasgow
Harbour Phase 2 proposals at the Clyde Waterfront Expo 2006. The international
exhibition and conference on waterfront regeneration will take place in
the SECC from the 17th to the 19th of October 2006.
Glasgow Harbour Phase 2 is a major new development on the Clydeside and
one of the largest regeneration projects in Scotland. It is situated on
the historical site of the former Granary buildings.
The project, for developer Dandara, will be be exhibited along side their
recently completed project at Lancefield Quay .The gm+ad presentation
will also feature the architect's proposals for the Tradeston Bridge.
The mission of WaterfrontExpo is to make a positive difference to waterfront
developments both existing and new - around the globe, primarily
through the creation of an annual conference and exhibition where professions
involved in waterfront development come together to share knowledge and
promote best practice.

GLASGOW: Scottish Design Show - Carbuncle Awards

The shortlist for this years Carbuncle
Awards will be announced on October 6 at the Scottish
Design Show. The competition to win the Plook on the Plinth for the
most dismal town has been particularly strong, with an advisory panel
including Alan Taylor, Associate Editor of the Sunday Herald and Ricky
Demarco, the arts impresario examining towns and city areas as diverse
as Ardrossan and Granton in Edinburgh to draw up assessment criteria.
Images of the six short-listed towns will be unveiled at the Tramway
Theatre in Glasgow as part of the Scottish Design Show
