The Bridge Arts Centre in Easterhouse won the British Construction Industry (BCI)
Regeneration Award 10 Oct 2007, at the BCI Awards in London. The Bridge Arts Centre was also a finalist in the BCI Public Building Award and the Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award, an award launched by the Prime Minister in 2000 to encourage high-quality design in new public buildings.

The Bridge Arts Centre was the only Scottish project shortlisted for these awards and competed against a number of high-profile London-based projects. The building has already won six other awards this year including the Scottish Design Awards 2007 and the RIBA national awards and is currently further shortlisted for the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland’s Andrew Doolan Award

Platform at the Bridge: Easterhouse, Glasgow

An aspirational new arts facility in Easterhouse opens its doors to the public. The Bridge opened in July 2006. The Bridge is a building which bridges the gap between John Wheatley College and the Easterhouse swimming pool. Platform is the name of the new dedicated arts facility set within The Bridge. Platform was funded by the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery money, and, along with the library, is a new building designed by Glasgow based Gareth Hoskins Architects.
