James MacLaren Architect : Information + Images  



James Marjoribanks MacLaren (1853 - 1890) was a Scottish Arts & Crafts architect who promoted development of the Scottish Vernacular architecture. He was a major influence on Rennie Mackintosh.

James Maclaren designed buildings in London, Canary Islands, Stirling and Fortingall, Perthshire. He was influenced by Philip Webb, CFA Voysey and WR Lethaby.
