'Practical Completion of the first major section of the shopping centre was reached on programme on 2 Mar 2004 which included the new M8 slip roads & signage gantry, spine road & 4 new roundabouts directly serving the development plus the Green car park (730 spaces) and 48,000sqft of retail/leisure space in Block 1.

This £142m Glasgow shopping park, located at Junction 10 of the M8, is a retail regeneration project in conjunction with Glasgow City Council.

Glasgow Fort incorporates a two-sided mall design. The Shopping Centre Phase One completion was due in Nov 2004. It provides non-food retail accommodation.

Anchor stores include Virgin, TK Maxx, Next, Argos, Boots, JD Sports, Borders, JJB Sports, Arcadia, River Island and Borders.

Morrisons have acquired a site adjacent to Glasgow Fort for a 130,000 sq ft supermarket.
