Text from Elder & Cannon Architects:
The site as found comprised of a plain Victorian villa set in a mature
wooded grounds.
The programme was
for a residential development carefully placed between and around the
two major tree belts and behind an existing mature hedge.

The development comprises
78 apartments with 5 blocks of varying scales and typologies that respond
to the unique landscaped setting and surrounding context.
Large scale elements
sit on diagonally opposite corners. One to the rear overlooking the entranceway,
and the other at the main public junction with views south over Paisley.
Thinner and lower blocks stretch along the quieter Netherhill Road and
end in an open pend forming the entrance to the site.
A simple palette of
materials was used with brick enlivened by areas of zinc cladding on the
more public faces and timber or render on the sheltered elevations, detailed
to echo the vertical rhythm of the tree line.
