gm+ad in China
Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop Architects are included in a new global
architecture publication. The book features top architects from around
the world and their projects and is to be published in early 2007. It
will be the first time the Scottish architects have been given such world
wide recognition and gm+ad are included alongside recognised international
names.

The publication follows on from the visit of a distinguished group of
Chinese architects to Glasgow in 2005. It was clear that the delegation
from China were very interested in our work" says Alan Dunlop "they
were very encouraging, particularly toward our city projects and were
keen to learn more. China offers huge opportunities for architects and
possibilities and gives us access to a new audience and potential source
of work"
This publication will be the first in a sequence high quality books that
will include more gm+ad projects. The architects are in discussion with
the Chinese publishers to include, in the future, projects such as the
Radisson SAS hotel, Sentinel and Hazelwood, the new school for children
with dual sensory impairment, currently being built in Dumbreck.
Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop are now making their mark worldwide and
this global architecture publication follows on from a recent visit by
a film crew from Montreal, who were interested in the work of gm+ad and
architecture in Glasgow.
The film crew from TV MAXPLUS PRODUCTIONS INC TV5 interviewed the architects
in the Radisson for a television series to be released in Canada in March
2007 and also visited Hazelwood.
"We are now working in Ireland and in the North of England,"
adds Gordon Murray, "and hopefully soon on projects in Europe, although
Glasgow and Scotland is still our main source of inspiration. In fact,
it's been a productive last few years for us, where we've won over twenty
national and international awards for architecture. Our JKS Workshops
project in Clydebank has been short listed for the RIAS Andrew Doolan
Award as the best building in Scotland in 2006. This is the third time
we've been short listed in the five years of the award, something no other
architect in Scotland has achieved".
