Location: GoMA is just southwest of George Square, one block east from Buchanan Street, on the western edge of the Merchant City.

The Royal Exchange building is housed in what was a mansion house built by Tobacco Lord William Cunninghame.

GoMA opened in 1996, costing £6m, with a cafe on the roof. Glasgow City Council gifted £3m of the cost.
