Quotes

The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Cllr Eva Bolander said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to visit familiar and unfamiliar buildings – some iconic landmarks – across the city. It’s also an exciting way to explore Glasgow’s rich architectural, cultural and social history while getting to know the city better.”

MollyMae Whawell, Events and Development Coordinator at Glasgow Building Preservation Trust, said:

“Each year the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival throws open the doors of the city and reignites the natural curiosity of thousands of visitors.

Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival is not only an opportunity for international visitors and for those from surrounding areas, but for Glaswegians to rediscover the city, to get into buildings they walk past every day, and to reconnect to the story of Glasgow. I’m truly excited to be sharing this year’s programme and can’t wait for our bookings to open this Wednesday.”

Nany Braid, Events Manager at Merchant’s House of Glasgow said:

“The Merchants House of Glasgow has been delighted to be involved in, and, associated with this amazing festival which grows year upon year. It is, a great pleasure to welcome visitors to the city and Glaswegians alike who may never have visited the Merchants House before.

We are one of the last hidden gems within the city, and one of the oldest social enterprises. The Merchants House is a luxurious venue steeped in history, and overflowing with character and atmosphere creating a wonderful feeling of opulence. Visit us on Saturday 15th September from 10am- 3pm and hear some of these stories about our history from our Lord Dean of Guild and others.”
