Not appearing in the shortlist are the British Embassy in Warsaw and the Nottingham Contemporary in England - a real surprise. Last year Tony Fretton's Fuglsang Kunstmuseum was favourite for the Stirling Prize but didn't win so his Embassy not making the cut wil come as a blow. Caruso St John's Nottingham Contemporary has been widely praised and is this respected studio's largest project to date. The committee report on its inquiry into Transport and Land Use Planning calls on the Scottish Government and local authorities to improve the interactions between the two planning policy areas to prevent developments being built with insufficient transport provision in place. 5 Jul CIOB in Scotland Ken Morrison from Stewart Milne Constructio elected as the new chairman of the CIOB in Scotland. 5 Jul New Council Housing Proposal Scottish Government allocate £2.9m for new council homes by Edinburgh City Council at West Pilton Crescent as part of their Council House Building Phase 3 funding. The announcement was made by First Minister, Alex Salmond, as he visited West Pilton Crescent.
