Stirling Prize
Stirling Prize Shortlist announced. 22 Jul
View re the shortlist from e-architect editor Adrian Welch:
"The Neues Museum was the clear favourite even before the Stirling shortlist announcement but now Zaha Hadid's MAXXI is tipped to win. Not appearing in the shortlist are the British Embassy in Warsaw and the Nottingham Contemporary in England - a real surprise. Last year Tony Fretton's Fuglsang Kunstmuseum was favourite for the Stirling Prize but didn't win so his Embassy not making the cut wil come as a blow. Caruso St John's Nottingham Contemporary has been widely praised and is this respected studio's largest project to date. However the more humble pair of school projects and house do add width to the list and will make it harder for the Stirling Prize judges to compare buildings". 22 Jul
