Glasgow Council Land Sell Off Shelved
Glasgow City Council suspends proposed sale of 56 sites due to the current economic climate & property market conditions. Part of £100m plan to manage surplus property in its £1.8bn portfolio. GCC had hoped to sell the freeholds of empty sites, including schools, offices and the Tontine building, which it estimated could net it more than £100m, into a partnership with a developer. Advertised in an OJEU notice these sites cost approx. £1m per year.
