Preserve
"The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) is embarking on the second phase of a £1 million project to conserve the original plans for famous buildings by Sir Robert Lorimer and Sidney Mitchell".

Beeb Bridge Bother
Campaigners today launched a fight to stop an £8million road bridge being built across the River Clyde. Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and Glasgow City Council are building the four-lane slanting bridge as a gateway to the multi-million-pound Pacific Quay development. The BBC demanded the building of the bridge as part of its move to new headquarters. But objectors have warned the arched bridge - with a 17ft clearance above the water's highest point - is far too low.

Bulldozers have already moved in to demolish the former Claremont Garments plant in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, where Cala Homes are to build 204 flats".

Mackintosh Saviour
“The news that Glasgow Museums are at last to put on show Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Ingram Street Tea Rooms had a double irony for me… At the time they were the most complete of the Cranston Tea Rooms, as both Argyle Street and Buchanan Street had more or less disappeared and the Willow Tea Rooms was lost in Daly’s department store. But in 1971 they were a very sorry sight... they are to be included in Glasgow Museums’ new plans for a development on the banks of the River Clyde”.

Castlemilk Stable
“A historic stable block in a Glasgow housing scheme will undergo a £3m transformation”.

Greater Easterhouse Cultural Campus
"Bold plans were today being unveiled for a £9million cultural campus in one of Glasgow’s most deprived areas....The state-of-the-art facility has been designed by award-winning Glasgow architect Gareth Hoskins and is expected to open in March 2005".

"Scottish Architecture is… always having to say you’re sorry"
"Against this backdrop, last Thursday’s unveiling of Murray & Dunlop’s eagerly anticipated Radisson Hotel in Glasgow’s Argyle Street should have offered welcome relief. What it turned out to be was an occasion for opportunistic mischief-making. As the tarpaulins came off, a tabloid reporter was poised to conduct a trial by media in the form of an ad hoc vox pop. Christening the structure ‘The Big Green Blob’, the Evening Times suggested the hotel had been given a "thumbs down", dismissed by tourists and locals alike as "ugly" and "boring""
