Investors in People Scotland Framework

Quotes from the Framework Report:

“Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop Architects (gm+ad) have achieved year on year growth ever since the new partnership was formed twelve years ago.

The organisation recognises the importance of managing this expansion without having any adverse effect on the quality of service they offer to their clients. The Partners ensure that the organisation has a clear purpose and vision, which is supported by a strategy for improving its performance. This includes breaking out of their previous pigeon-hole as ‘commercial architects’ by undertaking a broad range of commissions, including a school for visually and sensorily impaired children.”

Gordon Murray & Alan Dunlop Architects

gm+ad Architects, Glasgow, Scotland

Gordon Murray & Alan Dunlop Architects, later titled gm+ad architects, was an architecture practice based in Glasgow, Scotland. The architecture firm was founded by Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop in 1996. The company was dissolved in April 2010.

The architect practice was responsible for a number of housing and business developments in Glasgow and Edinburgh, including the copper-clad Radisson Hotel on Argyle Street, Glasgow, and the steel-clad Spectrum Building on Blythswood Street, in Glasgow’s financial district. On a smaller scale, this design practice designed an artists’ retreat for the grounds of Dunderave Castle in Argyll, involving re-use of cottages designed by the Scottish architect Robert Lorimer.

This Glaswegian architecture practice published two books about their work: Challenging Contextualism (2003) and Curious Rationalism (2006). The studio won multiple architectural awards and prizes.
