ALISON ROBERTSON, former chairman of the Church of Scotland Committee on Artistic Matters, and IAIN GALBRAITH, organist at Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church, will present a perspective of Scottish stained glass artists and their work, both old and new, within the national context.

STEPHEN RICHARD is a well-known figure in art glass circles, with many installations and exhibitions around Scotland over the past twenty years. Based at the WASPS Studios, Stephen works on a wide range of glass projects. He is active in the Scottish Glass Society and is currently chairman of craftscotland, a Scottish Arts Council-supported web-based information service.

RONA MOODY is a stained glass designer, maker and teacher and has lectured at Chesterfield College of Art since 1999. She has also been researching Scottish stained glass, particularly from the 20th century, since her student days at Edinburgh University.

ROSEMARY BEATON is a painter and stained glass designer who has exhibited widely — from Shetland to the Netherlands — since graduating with a First Class degree from Glasgow School of Art in 1985. She was recently featured in the local press at the unveiling of the “West End Window, ” an 11m high mosaic of stained glass on the corner of a block of modern flats off Byres Road.

ALEC GALLOWAY, who worked with Rosemary Beaton on the “West End Window,” is a stained glass artist based in Skelmorlie, Ayrshire. Starting as a glassblower before pursuing work as a graphic designer in London, Alec worked in stained glass in Dubai for several years before returning to Scotland in 2000. Alec also teaches in the MDes course at the Edinburgh College of Art.
